Made for God
All of us were created to be like God — His “image-bearers” — to know Him, love Him and reflect Him in the world.
Something went wrong
But we’ve all gone astray, trying to be gods ourselves and failing to love God and each other as we should. The Bible calls this sin. It’s why the world is full of death and hurt, and why we all stand under God’s just judgment.
God came near
In love, God sent His Son Jesus into the world as a man to pay the penalty for our rebellion. Jesus rose bodily from the dead — proof that God accepted His sacrifice in place of sinners. He ascended to heaven, is present by His Spirit with everyone who trusts Him, and will return to judge all people and bring His people into a renewed creation.
Life, restored
Knowing Jesus through a personal, biblical faith puts us back on the path we were made for: to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. That’s resurrection life — and it starts now.
Where our teaching comes from
We believe the Bible is God’s authoritative Word: it teaches us how to live and gives us a true and living hope. We hold that the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms faithfully summarise the Bible’s main teachings, in step with the Presbyterian Church in America.
